ISP: Remove ISP branding from programs PDF Print E-mail

I've switched from XX internet to your internet. But when I open Internet Explorer and/or Outlook express I still see "provided by XX". How can I get rid of that?

What you are seeing is called "Branding".  Basically it is a method that an ISP can "tag" your system with their information.  WebNexus/SCR does not feel that it is our right or priviledge to tag YOUR system with anything more than the bare minimum to get you online and setup your account information.  Beyond that what you do with your computer is your choice.  But because we don't tag a system, a previous ISP's tagging will be left behind because our software doesn't overwrite that information.

It is actually a rather easy thing to remove if you follow these instructions.  You may want to write them down or print them out because you will have to close your browser.

First copy the following line (it is case sensitive)

rundll32.exe iedkcs32.dll,Clear

  • Close any instances of Internet Explorer or Outlook Express you have open
  • Click the Start button
  • Click Run
  • Paste the line into the window
  • Click OK.

When you launch Internet Explorer or Outlook Express you won't have "Provided by XX" in the title bar.
